Each year, The Knot releases a list of the highest and most-rated wedding professionals as reviewed by real couples, their families and wedding guests. The Knot, a leading wedding planning brand and app, has been releasing these awards for fourteen years. Messina’s Catering & Events is proud to announce that one of their premier venues, The Rooftop on Basin has been selected as a 2020 Best of the Knot for Wedding Venues in New Orleans. It joins another, Messina’s at the Terminal, which also won that honor. In addition, Messina’s was named The Knot’s 2020 Best of Weddings for Caterers.
This is the third year Messina’s has been named Best of Weddings for Caterers, and the third year in a row Messina’s at the Terminal has been named Best of Weddings for venues. Messina’s just unveiled the Rooftop on Basin just this year, and we are confident it will grace this list many more times in the years to come.
Receiving top honors
In 2020, only five percent of hundreds of thousands of local wedding professionals listed on The Knot received this distinguished award. In its fourteenth annual year, The Knot determines the winners by analyzing millions of user reviews across various vendor categories to find the highest rated vendors of the year. The winners therefore represent the best of the best wedding professionals that engaged couples should consider booking for their own unique wedding.
The Rooftop on Basin
Messina’s recently leased and completely renovated the 4th floor of the historic Basin Street Station and turned it into The Rooftop on Basin, New Orleans newest rooftop venue. The building, which served as the administration building for the historic Southern Railway, is also the home to the New Orleans Museum on the first floor. It’s located in the historic Storyville District, which was once the red-light district of New Orleans. The Rooftop on Basin is the perfect combination of indoor/outdoor for any event, and can easily accommodate parties of 50-200 guests.
Basin St. Station was unveiled in 1904 as the New Orleans Terminal Company/Southern Railway Freight Office Building. Today, it is a New Orleans cultural center and offers visitors a fascinating glimpse into the rich history of the Big Easy. Perched atop this historic location, The Rooftop on Basin has salon and terrace spaces that capture the flavor of New Orleans and some of the most stunning views of breathtaking New Orleans cityscape.
